With deepest gratitude, to every hand that held a brush and every heart that believes in the power of the art of Mongolian calligraphy: Thank You. Your passion is the energy that drives us forward.
As we conclude this phenomenal year and prepare for the exciting expansion of 2026, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. May Wisdom and Balance guide your journey in the New Year.
Happy New Year 2026 from Mongolian Calligraphy and Art Center's Team!!!

A Message from the Executive Director:
The end of the year is not a finish line, but the moment to pause, feel gratitude for the events of the last year, and make exciting plans for the new year to come. For me, 2025 has been uniquely profound. While I officially stepped into the role of Executive Director in September 2025, my commitment to this mission runs deep as I have been with the Erdenesiin Khuree NGO since its very founding in 2018. This unique perspective, built upon the trust, dedication, and common work of our entire community, allows me to now share the highlights of our transformative 2025 and look forward with immense excitement to the promise of 2026.
Great Art Openings in 2025
Our calendar was defined by four major exhibitions:
"The Act of Creating Balance" (Jaakhankhuu Grisha): This highly anticipated second exhibition by the artist was critical in applying the philosophy of Arga Bilig (Yin Yang) to the nomadic spirit, visually bridging the ancient dualities with contemporary painting and calligraphy.
"Golden Sun" ("Naran Khuree" art collective): As our first exhibition by a Mongolian art collective and our first focused entirely on the Knot script, this show was groundbreaking for elevating the Mongolian genealogy map into a complex, higher-dimensional form using the intricate script.
"Roots" (Tamir Samandbadraa & Olivier Simon): This unique study on the roots of humanity was significant for combining French perspective (high-quality portrait prints) with the profound calligraphic expertise of a Mongolian master, demonstrating the universal resonance of our art.
"Light of the Heart's Home" (Kim Noce & U. Tseveendulam): This personally engaging exhibition was memorable for transforming the artists' residency yurt into a cozy gallery space showcasing animation drawings alongside the promising calligraphy debut by our newly hired local calligrapher.
2025 Highlights
In summer 2025, we were honored to host visiting master calligraphers, including Jaakhankhuu Grisha and Batbayar Tumurbaatar, whose shared wisdom enriched our students and energized our workshops.
We proudly welcomed local calligrapher Tseegii (U. Tseveendulam) to our team, who swiftly moved from calligraphy apprentice to co-exhibitor and teacher.
We launched a local Mongolian Calligraphy Club for children and adults in Kharkhorin.
We conducted events and workshops in art, drawing, design, and animation for local children in Kharkhorin.
We delivered 1 month of vital art therapy and calligraphy outreach to the community in the Dornogobi province.
Our Dutch volunteer, after learning Mongolian Calligraphy for 1,5 months, won a 3rd place in a calligraphy contest organized by the Kharakhorum Museum.
A worker from the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, who had trained at our center, successfully launched a Mongolian Calligraphy Workshop in Warsaw, becoming a crucial new instructor of Mongolian script in Central Europe.
Erdenesiin Khuree's Exhibition in France: Tamir's artworks, alongside those of our Center artists, were exhibited in Royan, France, from July to August. This spectacular showcase reached over 8,000 people, embedding Mongolian contemporary art deep within the European cultural conversation. (READ MORE)
"MÖR" (Trace): Tamir Samandbadraa published his essential new art book in France this December. Order your copy of "MÖR" today: EXPLORE THE BOOK
In 2025, our Mongolian Calligraphy and Art Center in Kharkhorin welcomed thousands of visitors from all over the world, sold over 2,000 tickets, fulfilled over 1,000 custom calligraphy commissions, and taught calligraphy techniques and Mongolian script basics to hundreds. This is the tangible proof of our collective impact.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to every single person who supported us throughout this journey: visitors, donors, partners, students, and patrons.
A special kind of thanks goes to our local Mongolian and international team of volunteers (from Spain, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the USA, France, the UK, the Czech Republic, and others) who dedicated a significant part of their lives to contributing to our Center!
THANK YOU
What to Look Forward to in 2026
Transforming the visitor and community experience is our mission, beginning with a major expansion featuring three new exhibition yurts. It will allow us to show you more art, more frequently, and with greater thematic depth.
Artistically, you can expect an even greater focus on fresh, compelling contemporary art from a curated selection of leading Mongolian artists and calligraphers, ensuring our walls are constantly vibrant. A cornerstone of this vision is the launch of an exciting, big project with a renowned Mongolian artist (to be revealed soon!).
Culturally, we are deeply committed to integration, actively incorporating more Mongolian traditional activities and crafts into the Center's offerings.
Finally, in education, we're looking forward to even more educational programs for all ages and nationalities.
We invite you to stay with us, support us, visit, and connect with us as we transform the Center in the new year.
